Ancient Carawine Gorge
Alan Morgan
Medium: oil on canvas
Carawine Gorge is spectacular and beautiful gorge 160km east of Marble Bar on Warragine Station in the North Eastern Pilbara. The gorge was formed some 300 million years ago by glacial movements through this most ancient geological region on earth. I camped there in October 2020 and took many photographs of the rock formations and coll clear waters of the gorge. The painting is a depiction of one of those photos.
