Asphalt III
Penny Bovell
Medium: acrylic paint on canvas
This painting is drawn from observations when walking through the parks near my home which is typical of many of the coastal wetland areas in the southern parts of WA. The linear motifs reflect two things: the painted tar used to repair path and cycle ways and branch formations found in groves of Melaleuca or Tea Trees. The artwork speaks of time as a symbol of mending and healing, and walking as a reminder to build strength and stability.
