Blue Banksia
Linda Fardoe
Medium: giclee, archival inks and paint pens on paper
I discovered this particular Banksia in the midst of a chaotic forest of Banksia trees. The swirling spikey leaves like a sea creature’s tentacles. I created an A2 ink and wash drawing which I scanned, to then manipulate on the computer. I chose a monochromatic blue colour scheme to enhance a squid like feel to the Banksia. This was printed at Fitzgerald Fine art Printers as an archival Giclee. I then used archival inks to draw back into the print making the image unique. I work between traditional drawing, contemporary digital manipulation and contemporary printmaking technology until I am satisfied with a result.
