Charcoal And Coral
Deanne Haddow
Medium: watercolour and gouache on rag paper
Kennedia coccinea (coral vine) is dominant for just a few short weeks each spring in an otherwise unremarkable patch of bush alongside the Wardandi track near my Cowaramup home. This spectacular display which meanders and twist and turns and climbs and caresses is like a visual dance made all the more valuable to the passerby by the way that it vanishes as quickly as it begins.
